A bit about the client
For nearly thirty years, Stepping Stones for Families has worked alongside children, young people and families to give them support, opportunities and a voice in tackling the effects of poverty and disadvantage in their lives.
What did they need?
We were asked to help Stepping Stones for Families devise a new communications strategy. After an assessment of their existing assets and discussions with their board and staff, It was generally felt that the organisation's existing logo didn't accurately reflect what the organisation does, its ethos or its purpose. One of the misconceptions about the old visual identity was around the circular blobs in the upper right hand side. When it was developed, the concept was that the blobs were thought bubbles. Over the years, this message was lost. Newer members of the team assumed they were meant to represent “stones” because the word “stones” is part of the charity’s name. It became clear that a full rebrand was required, the story of which you can read here in a guest blog our CEO Chris Graham wrote for their website.
What did we do?
We completed a full rebrand of the organisation, giving them a new visual identity. We designed several new assets, promotional materials and other marketing collateral. We devised their new social communication strategy, and built a new website. A full brand and organisation-wide template toolkit was created to help ensure the brand was used appropriately by staff, partners and funders moving forwards.
When the work was complete our CEO, Christopher Graham, was appointed to the Board of the charity, later being elected its Vice Chair.
