Founded on principles of inclusivity and empowerment, Indepen-dance is a Glasgow-based charity dedicated to enabling disabled and non-disabled individuals to express themselves and fulfill their potential through dance. With 28 classes offered each week to over 250 participants, the organisation strives to challenge perceptions and advocate for those whose voices are often marginalised.
In light of recent cuts to arts and charitable funding stemming from the global pandemic, Indepen-dance endeavoured to diversify its funding streams. Recognising the revenue-generating potential of events, they called on the team at TMD to help spearhead their inaugural Dinner & Showcase 2024 fundraiser – marking their first foray into large-scale event management.
Taking place at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel, the event unfolded as a bold fusion of fine dining and captivating performance. We orchestrated a seamless experience for the 200+ guests in attendance, arranging venue coordination to AV setup to catering, ensuring an unforgettable evening of charitable giving. Our event branding extended the event's reach beyond the ballroom, with social media marketing, email campaigns, and a bespoke event website cultivating a sense of anticipation greatly received by the Indepen-dance community.
We also played a role in driving the event’s commercial success. From conceptualising and executing silent auctions and a raffle, to securing the event’s corporate sponsorship packages, we worked hard to maximize fundraising efforts utilising all available resources. We’re so proud to have played a part in Indepen-dance’s new direction, and we remain steadfast in our support of their mission to inspire, uplift, and empower.
