Moira Anderson Foundation is a Scottish charity which provides a place of safety and support for children and adults who have been affected by Childhood Sexual Abuse. It was founded in 2000 in the name of a young girl, Moira, who went missing under suspicious circumstances in 1957.

In 2020, Moira Anderson Foundation celebrated its 20th anniversary and launched a fundraising campaign to expand its service offering. It decided a rebrand was appropriate to accompany these events, and give the charity a fresh face going into a new decade.

We took inspiration from toy building blocks to create a brand which expresses the innocence of childhood, as well as a sense of being strong and present. These blocks give backing to the outline of a child’s hand, and the shapes together represent the four values of the charity — integrity, resilience, trust and compassion. We worked closely with web developers at fellow agency Speed of Light to ensure the new website was complaint with our brand, and later took the lead on site development and copy. Furthermore, we created a range of printed assets, including lanyards, banners and business cards.

“The Moira Anderson Foundation (MAF) celebrated its 20th Anniversary in February 2020. Towards the end of 2019 the Board decided that a re-brand would be an ideal way to mark this important occasion so we enlisted the help of TMD via Inspiring Scotland. I knew from the first day I met James and Chris that we were in very safe hands. Both were keen to learn as much as possible about MAF before making any suggestions as to how we go forward. So much care and attention was given to the project and everyone at MAF loved the end result. Huge thanks to James for making this a special experience.

TMD also assisted in the development of our new website. Chris overcame any challenges with the minimum of fuss and I knew the end result would be amazing... I wasn't disappointed. Our new website and brand mean we are equipped for the 2020's!”
