NECCUS (pronounced Nexus) is a membership organisation working to decarbonise industry in Scotland and beyond by promoting low carbon technologies such as carbon capture, utilisation and storage. Their membership — comprising businesses, academia and public bodies — represents the majority of Scotland’s industrial emissions, as well as those best placed to help abate these emissions.

Established in 2019, for two years NECCUS had been unable to provide a platform for their members to meet in-person owing to the coronavirus pandemic. NECCUS wished to launch an events programme, understanding this as key to keeping their members abreast of the available opportunities and ongoing projects within the low carbon supply chain. Events would be delivered in collaboration with NECCUS’s partner organisation, The Scottish Cluster.

We worked with NECCUS to create two separate conference events under one heading, ‘Scottish Cluster Exchange’. Designed, marketed and delivered by TMD, these were NECCUS’s first ever in-person events and marked a significant expansion of the organisation’s offering. The events were held in Aberdeen and Stirling respectively, and both featured speaking slots from prominent influencers within the sector as well as one-on-one networking opportunities. Real-time delegate feedback via Slido allowed us to understand what had gone well on the day, to inform our future events for NECCUS.
