The NECCUS Industrial Decarbonisation Trade Mission 2023 was an international trade mission held in Oslo from the 30th-31st August. The Mission brought together Scottish and Norwegian organisations involved in decarbonisation initiatives such as carbon capture & storage, providing a unique platform for delegates to share their expertise, explore market synergies, and accelerate the critical transition to Net Zero.

Our partnership with NECCUS had already yielded significant successes, such as the launch of the SNZR report, the DeCarbScotland Conference at Murrayfield, and the Scottish Cluster Exchange event series. Hence, we were well-prepared to take on the challenge of organising this pioneering trade mission, from inception to execution. The event represented a natural evolution of NECCUS's event portfolio, reflecting the organisation's increasing ambition and momentum in advocating for the decarbonisation of industry in Scotland and beyond.

The NECCUS Scotland-Norway Decarbonisation Trade Mission 2023 was the first trade mission of its kind, and an overwhelming success. Our wide-ranging involvement entailed liaising with speakers, venues and AV contractors, developing the event's unique brand identity, and creating comprehensive marketing materials including a custom-built website. We facilitated the event’s thought-provoking presentations and panel discussions, and arranged an exclusive drinks reception hosted by the UK Ambassador to Norway, Jan Thompson CMG OBE. Additionally, we set the stage for Carbon Capture Scotland to launch their new brand before a global audience. 

The success of the NECCUS trade mission was made possible through close collaboration with prominent organisations and stakeholders, including the British Embassy in Oslo, the Department for International Trade, the Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce, and Scottish Development International. We are thrilled to have helped raise NECCUS's international profile, providing them with invaluable connections and opportunities to attract new members.
